The REAL threat to marriage

....is not same-sex marriage.

Nope. Biggest threat to marriage started long before 2004 when Massachusetts judges in the state supreme court allowed it.

Marriage has been under attack since people began to get married in drive-thrus in Las Vegas.

Marriage especially in recent years has been under attack with our society today applauding couples living together before they're married.

Marriage is under attack with the rise in numbers of divorces in the past 50 years. And that's if they even get married in the first place. Nowadays you've got all these couples in relationships living together unmarried, having kids together, having bank accounts and insurance together, and then they just maybe kinda become common law married if anything.

Folks -- I'm not even completely coming from a religious perspective on this -- YES, I am a devout and practicing Catholic. But one should not have to be any sort of serious practitioner of any of the Abrahamic faiths to see this point ----> If you're already living together, having sex, sharing bills, being on the same cell phone plan, cable bill, insurance, etc, then WHAT'S THE POINT OF BEING MARRIED?

I am not a supporter of same-sex marriage. I'm also not a supporter of government getting involved in anything and calling it marriage. Two adults, regardless of gender, should be allowed to enter into contracts with one another and have rights like hospital visitation and so on. I say make everything civil unions, and let individuals and religious organizations decide what they want to call marriage.
