For those who still think Arabs/Muslims are the problem...

.....I would just ask you a few questions:
(1) Did Arabs/Muslims shoot up Northern Illinois University today?

(2) Did Arabs/Muslims shoot up the mall in Nebraska last November?

(3) Did Arabs/Muslims shoot up Virginia Tech last year?

(4) Did Arabs/Muslims blow up the abortion clinics in the early 90's?

(5) Did Arabs/Muslims bomb the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta?

(6) Did Arabs/Muslims send bombs to people in the mail from a shack in Montana?

(7) Did Arabs/Muslims blow up the building in Oklahoma City in 1995?

(8) Did Arabs/Muslims try to blow up Congressman Darrell Isa's office in 2002?

(9) Did Arabs/Muslims shoot up Columbine High School in 1999 (or any of the other highschools
that got shot up in the 90's)?

(10) Was the BTK killer Dennis Rader an Arab or a Muslim?

(11) Was Jeffrey Dahmer an Arab or a Muslim?

(12) Did Arabs/Muslims drag James Byrd to death in Texas?

I rest my case.
In the words of one of my favorite comedians Chris Rock, "I ain't scared of Al-Qaeda. I'm scared of Al Cracker."

I understand that you are trying to show that there are problems from our own citizens. However, those crimes do not diminish, nor should they overshadow the fact that we are at war with Arab/Muslim terrorists. I am not of the mindset that they are all evil and must die, but there is no denying that they present a problem. Are they "the" problem? No, there is not one thing that makes "the problem" but a number of things. Do I blame them for everything? No, but they are a threat, and we cannot lose focus on that.

There definitely are groups of people who come from the Arab and Muslim world who want to do us harm, but I posted this to make a point.

That is that we've had far more terrorist attacks from within our own population than from foreigners, Arabs, and Muslims.

People have such negative opinions and stereotypes of Arabs and Muslims, so much so that a 2005 Cornel University poll found that almost 50% of Americans think that Arabs and Muslims in the United States should have their civil liberties curtailed EVEN IF they are citizens.

Yes, there is a segment among those populations that are a problem, but we have overblown the threat. Arabs and Muslims aren't gunning people down in schools and shopping malls. Arabs and Muslims that come here and do harmful things do major attacks, not small things like that. They're out for the big prizes like the WTC and the Pentagon, not some mall in Nebraska. We have a far greater problem with domestic terrorism from our own citizenry.

And further, this war in Iraq diverted resources from the Afghan/Pakistan border, which is where Al-Qaeda attacks on US soil are being planned as we speak.

It's also worth mentioning that Arabs and Muslims in the U.S. commit crimes at a far lower rate than other groups.

Well, forgive my ignorance but I can not think of a single country that has had more attacks from outside it's borders than inside. If you can, I'd love to be enlightened.
